Humaniod Roboter BielBott XP1
Biel/Bienne - Several project partners have started their vision of a Swiss industrial humanoid platform at the Swiss Smart Factory of the Innovation Park Biel/Bienne. Cyltronic, Siemens, Balluff, and Kanya, among others, were involved in the development of the BielBot XP1.
(CONNECT) The Swiss Smart Factory (SSF) has started realizing its vision of an industrial humanoid robot. Named BielBot XP1, it was unveiled there on June 25, 2026. The Swiss Smart Factory of the Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne is the first test and demonstration factory for Industry 4.0 in Switzerland. The facility aims to enable SMEs lacking the necessary resources to enter Industry 4.0 and implement new and technically demanding processes.
As project manager Michael Wendling states, this would not have been possible without the special expertise and technologies of the partner companies. He particularly highlights the companies Cyltronic (Winterthur), Siemens Switzerland (Zurich) and Balluff (Biel/Bienne), which contributed their respective IO-Linktechnologies for communication with sensors and actuators, as well as Kanya (Rüti ZH), a specialist in industrial aluminum profile constructions that has built a modular frame system.
Wendling describes the BielBot XP1 as just the first step in its development: “We are convinced that this platform will continue to evolve with new technologies, new capabilities, and new collaborations.” He invites anyone interested in contributing to get in touch. “We're just getting started.”
